I realize I haven't made an update here in QUITE some time. *remedies*LostUnder the Twinkling of a Fading Star
My favorite 'explanation' thus far of what's really going on in the series. Heck, it's as plausible as anything else, no? Five Things That Probably Didn't Happen To Hugo Reyes
Oh dear, crossover delight! Hurley is, quite rightly, one of the most popular characters on the show. This lovely bit of fic takes him through the multifandom tango to the tune of laughter and woe. If you love Lost
and you have a fondness for crossovers (like me!) you'll really enjoy these five Hurley stories. *nods*Extra Charges May Apply
So good I'm too tongue-tied to give adequate feedback. Locke is, arguably, my favorite character in the series, so it's only natural that any good fic in which he plays a significant role would catch my eye. Also my fondness for sideline/obscure characters has rarely been as tantalizingly indulged as in this fic. Yahtzee takes a canon character that didn't even get any screen time aside from being a voice on the phone
and fleshes her out into an honest-to-goodness mirror for Locke's personality quirks...and possibly his emotional weaknesses as well. This Helen voice is utterly believable and real. Harry PotterGrim
Oh Sibyll. Darling, delightful, dear Sibyll...how often you are mistreated in fic...how frequently you're used only as a target of ridicule.
But not in this fic...oh no. cruisedirector
paints a Sibyll Trelawney in this story that's just short of being identical to the version of Sibyll that has resided in my heart since I first read PoA. She's delicious in oh so many ways, and this fic...this fic
is simply lovely. the man i could be
This story is an angsty Ron bit that just makes me ache for him all over again. Amid some rather disastrous events, the author paints a portrait of Ron against a backdrop of everything the Weasely family is...and isn't. Yummy!OtherPeter and Wendy
: A Hundred Years Ago
has probably already been recommended hither and yon, but honestly...the whole point of this self-serving wee community is so that I can keep links for myself. *shrug*
Anyway, this fic took every bit of empathy I've ever felt for Hook and tore it into tiny pieces of sorrow and loss. The bitter ironies of Neverland are thrown into relief here; in the end everyone is a victim.Crossover: Firefly/Cowboy Bebop
:Whatcha Gonna Do (Lil Buckaroo)?
is sort of pre-River/Ed and, interestingly enough, it works
Considering that both fandoms fall well into the rather narrow genre of 'Space Western,' I'm astonished I haven't seen similar crossovers before. Hmmm.Disney's Little MermaidSeeing Your World from the Outside
. Northlight does a fantastic job here of giving us what I feel is a realistic depiction of Ariel's (and Eric's) emotional state well after the events of the movie. It's filled with loss and longing; you can practically taste the futility.
