Over the past year or so I've added these (among others) to my memories section... Trust me, I've spared you all a plethora of Jayne/River Firefly links.

Harry Potter
I Will Remember You - nopejr.
Dudley Detective-fic. And yes, it's totally worth it.

One for Sorrow - lilith_morgana
The bleak life of Eileen Prince. This fic broke me. Hard.

A short post-HBP Riddle characterization... - not even a fic, but pogrebin makes 300 words so beautiful that I can't resist wanting to return for a re-read.

Visitors - lyras
A look at the Longbottoms. Alice POV.

Northern Lights - scythia
Tom/Ginny. A little fic about the Dark Mark.

Definitions of Romance - edenfalling
I know. Harry/Hermione. But if you're going to convince me about this pairing at ALL you're going to have to do it this way...

Amidst this Bitterness - parkergray
Harry/Ginny...but not.

Clean New Music - by voleuse
A bit of delectable backstory on Chief Tyrol.

Running - trinnifer
Commander Adama/Starbuck, my seekrit OTP. Why can't I find this pairing more often?

Piety - ingridmatthews
Adama/Tigh. Tigh's feelings are so tangled up in gratitude and near-worshipful adoration...and what are William's?

Calliope - rheanna
A Common People BSG fic. Just a nice clear look at what people could be going through out there in the fleet. How alone CAN you be when surrounded by all that's left of humanity?

Children of the Revolution - zeplum
Delicious little character shorts. A lot of emphasis on secondary characters here, yay!

Bower - by angstslashhope
Simon/River/Jayne is my happy new threesome. I was all down with the River/Jayne, but throw Simon in and everything's better. This fic is...perhaps...my favorite with these three that I've read thus far.

Happiness - sharpest_rose
Feeds my Simon/River/Jayne need beautifully.

Safe - irradiatedsoup
Again with Simon/River/Jayne. but oh-so hurty and right.

Things Alchemical - veejane
A quiet little piece that goes nowhere and does very little, and yet seems to capture a moment so clearly that it becomes memorable. V.nice, especially as it illustrates the dynamic between Mal & River that I love so much.

Star Wars
Five Senses - selenak
I'd mention who the main character is, but that would be telling.

Deus Ex Machine - fire_and_a_rose
Anakin/Vadar. Yes, really. I totally adore this fic's examination of identity, the fine line between self-love and self-loathing, and how difficult it may be to find a balance without going over the edge entirely.

Salvage - sharpest_rose
This fic is a post-RotS AU. Strangely, I'm completely in love with it (especially considering that it's very Obi-Wan Kenobi-ish).

Gainful Employment - file_five
Shaun of the Dead, yo! "It's time for Ed to find a job."

The Dreamer - misbegotten
BSG/Lost - You'd think this crossover wouldn't work, but it does...and it hurts.

Three by Three - hannahrorlove
Enterprise/The Matrix. Trip Tucker/Trinity. Yes, really. Delightfully cracktastic!

Fun and different:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Poet - ladysisyphus.
Oh my. T.S. Eliot/Potterdom. Who would have thought?

Is this a Kissing Book? - mollyringwraith
LOTR Princess Bride Parody. Oh the yummy sporkage!

I realize I haven't made an update here in QUITE some time. *remedies*

Under the Twinkling of a Fading Star by rheanna27
My favorite 'explanation' thus far of what's really going on in the series. Heck, it's as plausible as anything else, no?

Five Things That Probably Didn't Happen To Hugo Reyes by apocalypsos
Oh dear, crossover delight! Hurley is, quite rightly, one of the most popular characters on the show. This lovely bit of fic takes him through the multifandom tango to the tune of laughter and woe. If you love Lost and you have a fondness for crossovers (like me!) you'll really enjoy these five Hurley stories. *nods*

Extra Charges May Apply by yahtzee63
So good I'm too tongue-tied to give adequate feedback. Locke is, arguably, my favorite character in the series, so it's only natural that any good fic in which he plays a significant role would catch my eye. Also my fondness for sideline/obscure characters has rarely been as tantalizingly indulged as in this fic. Yahtzee takes a canon character that didn't even get any screen time aside from being a voice on the phone and fleshes her out into an honest-to-goodness mirror for Locke's personality quirks...and possibly his emotional weaknesses as well. This Helen voice is utterly believable and real.

Harry Potter
Grim by cruisedirector
Oh Sibyll. Darling, delightful, dear Sibyll...how often you are mistreated in fic...how frequently you're used only as a target of ridicule.

But not in this fic...oh no. cruisedirector paints a Sibyll Trelawney in this story that's just short of being identical to the version of Sibyll that has resided in my heart since I first read PoA. She's delicious in oh so many ways, and this fic...this fic is simply lovely.

the man i could be by escritoireazul.
This story is an angsty Ron bit that just makes me ache for him all over again. Amid some rather disastrous events, the author paints a portrait of Ron against a backdrop of everything the Weasely family is...and isn't. Yummy!

Peter and Wendy:
A Hundred Years Ago by trifles has probably already been recommended hither and yon, but honestly...the whole point of this self-serving wee community is so that I can keep links for myself. *shrug*

Anyway, this fic took every bit of empathy I've ever felt for Hook and tore it into tiny pieces of sorrow and loss. The bitter ironies of Neverland are thrown into relief here; in the end everyone is a victim.

Crossover: Firefly/Cowboy Bebop:
Whatcha Gonna Do (Lil Buckaroo)? by jennyo is sort of pre-River/Ed and, interestingly enough, it works. Tasty!
Considering that both fandoms fall well into the rather narrow genre of 'Space Western,' I'm astonished I haven't seen similar crossovers before. Hmmm.

Disney's Little Mermaid
Seeing Your World from the Outside by anenko. Northlight does a fantastic job here of giving us what I feel is a realistic depiction of Ariel's (and Eric's) emotional state well after the events of the movie. It's filled with loss and longing; you can practically taste the futility.

Subject:Fairly antique Potterdom and a current Firefly favorite...
Posted by:unanon.
Time:2:43 pm.

Any Potter fan worth their salt has probably heard of pogrebin's unsticking the shadow by now. I'm not very salt-worthy, so it has taken me a while. *shrug* Read it. It's about Hermione and how wizards are all-too human and it's utterly heartbreaking.

Also a fine, fine read is molly36's untitled Triofic. This woman's writing is always high on my trust meter, yes indeed.

somethingwicked offers up a sweetly enticing look at potential Luna/George in Blithe Spirit. She could really win me over with this whole Twins/Luna thing, y'know.

Indelicate by mosca is a Jayne/River NC-17 non con which, under normal circumstances, wouldn't be something I'm likely to recommend.

Oh, but this fic....this fic!

It's a great look at Jayne and his attitudes toward sex and intimacy. I didn't find it general non-con-creepy so much as terribly sad...for both of them, really. Jayne seems to view sex as a natural, vital act; to become an unwilling participant basically robs him of that safe harbor.

Whereas River...River here is chock full of that desperate clinical coldness with which she's generally enshrouded. The meds, the academy-induced madness, her own genius shortcomings in matters of human interaction and intimacy: all of these come into play.

You end up hurting for Jayne, and that's something extremely rare in a fandom where his character tends to be relegated to the narrow role of buffoon all too often. It's important to have fics where we're reminded that everyone's breakable.

For general amusement:
Gen/Slash - various. Humorous anthropomorphic fic.

Spiderman 2. Doctor Octopus/his arms.
Rating: Oh, I'd say this is NC-17. Yeeeep. Um, tentative consent.... and squick? And angst.

Trust me on this one. It's deliciously crafted and downright delightful in SO many ways. If you enjoyed the movie at ALL you won't be disappointed.

Stars Above by LadyStarlight. Lovely post-Gift interaction between Xander and Spike. I've rarely seen a story which nails their characters so well without there being a romantic relationship involved.

Sixfold Symmetry by Dana Woods. This time Dana has truthfully surpassed herself. The imagery is astounding. Summary: Two Slayers. Fractured moments and realizations.

Touching the Fire by Ligeia. Ligeia always manages to surprise me with her insights in one specific moment and/or episode. The First Slayer, in the role of guide, and Buffy, in her most vulnerable moment, bonding. Truthfully amazing. Summary: What did Buffy experience during those moments when she lay dead in the Master’s cave that gave her the strength to fight on?

To the Waters and the Wild by SeraC. Chilling and yet strangely beautiful and erotic. The choice of words creates such an atmosphere that I really doubt you'd regret reading it.

Level of Hell 6 1/2 A (Dis' shopping mall) by Dana M. Evans. On a personal level, Dana is the only one who makes me want to read about Connor. This piece takes place in that S3-S4 interlude; Connor, Fred and Gunn trying to have a normal day. Wonderful characterisation for each of them.

Samba de Orfeo by Beth C. This is a beautiful story with post-Chosen Willow. Saying more would be spoiling it, go and read it.

Beginnings by LisaP. Few authors ever take an underused character under their wings, even less manage to give them life and make them into real, three dimensional characters. LisaP is one of the latter, she took Kathy and made her a window into Liam's live. Lovely in so many levels that you can't simply not read it.

Hope you enjoy and happy Valentine!

Aw, this is SO sweet!

God, it's been some time since I laughed so much. Not exactly a comedy, only... funny.

I really need some Original ScoobieGang fic after reading Trinity. Really, I haven't seen something as simple and yet moving in ages.

YAY! I got my song for the Lyric Wheel! 32 Flavors. The Jean-Rogue interaction is really good.

Rogue&Scott friendship with some R/W and J/S on the side, how not to love it?

These recs have been a long time coming....These are fics I've recced on my own LJ, but have neglected to pass on to this site until now. *nods*

Harry Potter
The Five Steps by ari_o. Post OotP sadness. Harry. Just Harry.

The Green Light by pogrebin. Tom Riddle set against the frigid starkness of a Russian winter. This is a must-read for any Riddle-fan.

The Waters of March by geoviki is a quiet little potential Harry/Draco that sneaks beneath the surface of your skin without a whisper.

Unbroken by contrariwise is a lovely Draco/Luna is such infinite sweetness that she nearly managed to convert my Luna shippage from Harry/Luna. Heh...

The Growing Pains of Severus Snape, Aged 36 3/4 by Valeria Fate. I laughed so hard at this tongue-in-cheek orgy of snark that I nearly rendered myself unconscious.

May I also suggest Flame and Shadow by Maya. This fic is at The Restricted Section, so I can't link to it directly. Let's just say that it's a delightful little bit of AU Adult Ron/Pansy that surprised my socks off.

Bar Time by azurine is a Logan/Peter ficlet set in the Ultimateverse. Well worth the read, methinks. *nods*

May Flowers by potatofiend. Secret Garden. *sniffle*

Repairs by Isabeau of Greenlea is a short, sweet LOTR Gimli piece that takes everybody's favorite overlooked dwarf and lets him restore a bit of himself after the battle is over.

One Big Happy Pantheon by K.A. Rose. Is a Good Omens/Dogma fic of much hilariousness. Well worth the read for anyone who enjoys either or both of these fandoms.

Curiosities by penknife is lovely X-Men/Harry Potter fic. Trust me! Magneto, Xavier and Tom Riddle meeting in the 1950's is enough to make MY pulse quicken, at any rate. *grin*

Have fun and enjoy!

Ok, I know most of you don't like WIPS, and I can't blame you. But Dana's last story is just TOO good to pass up.

Why am i just reccing it now? I was gonna wait until it was all posted but, a line of the fourth chapter just reminded me what a good writer Dana is.

This fic is at: http://www.afallenangel.net/fandom/viewstory.php?sid=1142
Her site? http://www.geekgirlz-r.us/ Just look for Midnight Tangos and Deathrattles
And for those only looking for her fiction: http://www.geekgirlz-r.us/dana/danalist.html (did I mention it was good?)

Other fics? If I had to choose only three I'd have to say 'Radio Play' (who said Angel never saw Spike&Dru before Sunnydale?), 'Nil Se Ina La' (I only warn you, she's the one to blame for my liking Connor. But, such a beautiful post-End of Days fic!) and, of course, 'Blackest of Blues' (my fav 'what if' of S6). But, really, all her stuff is great.

I Don't Dance
by Minor Ramblings

It's a sweet little Logan/Jean story set loosely after X2, in which Dr. Grey needs a date to a formal ball and Logan's drafted into learning to dance. It's a nice, happy fic, which is just what I needed after all of the canon angst in Ultimate X-Men this past week. ;) Logan/Jean can angst a reader to death, so it's great to have something that's just plain happy. :)

Go! Read!

Also, I have a question. Is it okay to post real people fic recs, or should I stick to fictional people only?
